Welcome to Weyburn!
On the Souris River, 115 km (71.46 mi) southeast of Regina, lies Weyburn, often regarded as “The Opportunity City.” This nickname ties into its booming economic bases of agriculture, manufacturing and processing, oilfield exploration, business and industrial services. Famous Weyburn residents are the former Saskatchewan premier/CCF politcal party leader T.C. Douglas and author W.O. Mitchell. A fun way to learn more about these men and the city's attractions is to take the Weyburn Crocus Tour, a 12 stop driving tour that highlights various city attractions such as the T.C. Douglas Centre and the Turner Curling Museum. Free guide booklets for the tour are availabe at the Soo Line Historical Museum. For history buffs, the Heritage Village and The Big Wheel mural depict the area's colourful past. Recreational facilities include the Weyburn Leisure Centre, which has both an indoor pool and outdoor pool, while scenic trails through the Nickle Lake Regional Park are lined with trees. Visitors to Weyburn can choose to stay in an assortment of motels, hotels and campgrounds and diverse dining opportunities await.Tourist Attractions
